<p>We were talking a lot about delays here <a class="issue-link js-issue-link" data-error-text="Failed to load issue title" data-id="435576959" data-permission-text="Issue title is private" data-url="https://github.com/bisq-network/proposals/issues/77" data-hovercard-type="issue" data-hovercard-url="/bisq-network/proposals/issues/77/hovercard" href="https://github.com/bisq-network/proposals/issues/77">#77</a>, but I understand comments about delays are better placed in this thread.</p>
<p><a class="user-mention" data-hovercard-type="user" data-hovercard-url="/hovercards?user_id=34919942" data-octo-click="hovercard-link-click" data-octo-dimensions="link_type:self" href="https://github.com/HarryMacfinned">@HarryMacfinned</a>, <a class="user-mention" data-hovercard-type="user" data-hovercard-url="/hovercards?user_id=4233784" data-octo-click="hovercard-link-click" data-octo-dimensions="link_type:self" href="https://github.com/flix1">@flix1</a>,  We should take into consideration also that the delay not only is a strong deterrent for scammers, but it is also very helpful to undo the harm thief has made to the victim of the stolen account.  As much as I don´t like banks and fiat currency, I believe it is important that Bisq cares about everyone´s private property, no matter if they are Bisq users or not, or if they are BTC users or not (even BTC haters).</p>
<p>Indeed, being more resilient to fiat scams than fiat itself would show the superiority of building on BTC over fiat.</p>
<p>Delay is also a good measure to keep Bisq under the radar of regulators because if most harm is undone, chances are lower that Bisq related chargebacks scalate up within Bank's organizations and up to regulators and police / law enforcement.  As we all know, it is sadly usual that regulators are very willing to hunt down a system even if fraud transactions are just a tiny fraction of overall transactions.</p>
