To build up long-living identities (even if not tied to real life id) it comes usually with privay problems. E.g. using trade history everyone can see how much u have traded. The best what can be done IMO is building a kind of WoT where you get reputation from a network which whom you have traded. But that is a pretty complex challenge and it needs to be also easy to understand and use. PGP WoT shows that even it it works technically it does not mean that it works socially (if its too complex to understand for the majority).

If you know any solid concept or project which it working on such a system let me know. I think OpenBazaar had invested a lot of effort in that area and I think they gave up on it (not up to date, so might be wrong - point me to resources if so).
