The mediator has no authority over the trade! That is the important change to the current arbitration system. The details are still up for discussion but I would suggest that by default the users try to resolve their problem and only in case they cannot find a solution they request a mediator. How the seltion will be done is still open but I would prefer that its up to the traders who they choose.

The bonds still will exist for all other trusted roles and will be used for the off-chain trade protocol. Just the arbitration will get removed as it is the most centralized and risk carrying element in the current system.
