I got from the arbitrators feedback about number of disputes and the rough distribution of the reasons.
Number of cases that month: 127 out of 1539 trades which is about 8% (-> still too high)
Number of real disputes ever: zero
Reasons:
% Bugs: 40%
% Bank issues: 25%
% Usability issues: 25%
% Users not pressing sent/received button: 8%
% Future trades (cancel trade bc of volatility): 2%
% Not responding at all: 0%
% Scams: 0%
So we see that so far it has worked out well that the protection mechanisms in place kept scammers out. I think it is a reasonable assuption for the new protocol as well that we do not need to focus too much on the abuse cases if the system is designed in a way that it is not attractive for those.
