> Support of alternative base currencies was added in the times of the block size "civil war" where at some point there have been risk that Bitcoin could have become very unstable/insecure/high fees. As coins like Litecoin have been very similar to Bitcoin and easy to support as there have been BitcoinJ versions we supported such coins (also Doge and Dash - was no endorsement).

In the code we have still traces from that but that does not mean that there are any intentions to go back to that route again, it was just never time to clean that up.

Thanks for the suggestions; but I am okay using the current v1.2 code as a reference point and without backtracking to old code.

This proposal is purely for the preparation for a multi-base currency support into the present v1.2 code and to prepare the groundwork for XMR as base currency (to ensure that offers with XMR as base will not start showing up in the BTC offer lists or vice-versa).

Thanks you for your expert opinion on the feasibility (or non-feasibility if you will) of XMR as base currency; but the ship has already sailed and I expect the dividends to be reaped sooner than later.

Regards.
