<!--
Compensation requests have a specific format that enables them to be evaluated by a bot for more efficient budgeting. Please make sure you stick to the template. A linter will evaluate your request after you remove [WIP] from the issue title and notify you of any issues.

See the following link for details:
https://bisq.wiki/Making_a_compensation_request

Feel free to browse other requests if you're not sure about something, or reach out in #compensation on Keybase (https://keybase.io/team/bisq).

## Summary

> _Specify the total amount of BSQ you are requesting, along with the USD total and BSQ/USD rate (don't include the brackets!):_

- **BSQ requested**: **`2479`** <!-- [BSQ amount] should be: USD amount / BSQ rate -->
- USD requested: 3000 <!-- [USD amount] should be: total of all contributions listed in "contributions delivered" table below -->
- BSQ rate: 1.21 USD per BSQ <!-- [rate] should be the rate used to determine the BSQ amount above, as specified in the cycle's rate announcement (https://bisq.wiki/Compensation_Maintainer#Announce_BSQ-USD_rate) -->
- Previous compensation request (if applicable): #762 <!-- Link to last compensation request submitted -->

## Contributions delivered

> _Add contributions you have [delivered](https://github.com/bisq-network/proposals/issues/19) and roles you have performed here as new rows in the table below. Role line-items should include an asterisk (*) in the team column._

| Title | Team | USD | Link | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Reduce bandwidth requirement on Bisq startup | dev | 3000 | bisq-network/projects#25 | the project got completed recently, and given the design is the design I came up with, I claim compensation for the feasibility study, the proof of concept implementation (bisq-network/bisq#4233), and some overhead + reduced to chimp's suggestion of being 50% of the projects initial value. _this request has been ignored by officials in Cycle 18, 19 and 20_ |

A sidenote to this: It is pretty sad that Bisq treats his contributors that way. First, the desperately needed measures get delayed, then project proposals are required, then the proposals get ignored, then delayed and finally, after the work is done, someone comes along, uses the production-ready code to create a similar PR which then gets merged and all the work done over months are denied compensation. It seems like again Bisq only values a written line of code - not the data collection, investigation, design steps to create a proper solution.

Besides that, I know, I already left the project. And there are people in Bisq which seem to be very keen to get me out. And after I am gone there is no point in compensating anything really - it is at least common practice in the industry. And I firmly believed that Bisq is different, yet, Bisq steals from me. 1k5$ (https://github.com/bisq-network/compensation/issues/709#issuecomment-734499167) for the project is not compensation, it is a message - and I got it the first time around.

That being said, may Bisq prevail, I certainly hope so. Yet, I fear that there are some radical changes necessary which might not come in time.

## Contributions in progress

> _Provide links to work you're involved with that is still [in progress](https://github.com/bisq-network/proposals/issues/19). **This section is optional (the linter ignores it),** and is for your own benefit in keeping track of what you're doing and keeping other contributors up to date with the same._
