It seems to me that you are both in good faith and an error has been made by the banks.  Your proposal of a 50/50 refund seems like the most reasonable outcome if you can both agree to it.  @lostsock1 would you be willing to send your evidence of payment to @bisqu1465 - you are both on Keybase and it would be easy to do it there.  I think if they saw your proof of payment they should reasonably agree to splitting the funds 50/50.
