This is a really good start in introducing a more social aspect to Bisq. It encourages the Bisq community to stay connected and engaged during the trading process and should be very useful for first time Bisq traders as well as reputable traders. Just a few design considerations for those focusing on UX:

- Include message and guidelines on explaining privacy as there is a doubt on Bisq’s security, this is an issue discussed within the Monero community for example.

- Language must be understood and recognised by beginners as well as expert users .

- Desktop Notifications- notify users of messages while the screen is minimised, this is important if Bisq is to become more interactive. It is good practice to provide feedback to users so that they are aware of what is going on at all times.

- Provide links to support in case of a disagreement or tech issues

- Account for when a user makes a mistake e.g, edit or delete option

- Edit or update any relevant documentation

In addition to the use cases @chimp1984 has listed, I can take a look into a few subject areas. Research will help in:

- Identifying the stages or conditions users initiate communication

- Understanding what leads Bisq users in using the current chat feature

- Identifying any key pain points while using the Bisq chat feature

- Pinpointing main trade topics

- Gaining a clear user perspective on reputation

- Clarifying what users would like from the more social aspect of Bisq

- Identifying competition and their key features

This ensures that the messaging service is customised/designed to the Bisq’s user needs and adds to the more ‘human’ experience of the chat feature.

Let me know if there’s anything else anyone would like me to look into regarding this.
