## Description

I am documenting my plans for what I would like to do with payment methods over 2022.

In 2021 I mainly worked on getting a [20+ payment methods added](https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq/discussions/5462).

Many of the new payment methods have not see much uptake. Therefore, I would like to use 2022 as a time to build on the work done in 2021 and develop the new payment methods and associated currency markets, as well as working on some user experience improvements.

- Complete analysis of existing payment methods
- Establish active markets for users in Indian, Colombia and Brazil
- Promote the use of ACH and Domestic Wire Transfer for the USD market
- Promote the use of the new European Payment Methods for instant payments
- Ensure every payment method has an associated wiki
- Improve the UI of the National Currency Account screen
- Improve the Bisq user experience of people from places with less traded currencies.
- Review proposed payment methods to be added
- Review any changes needed to current payment methods

## Criteria for delivery

### Ensure every payment method has an associated wiki

Create wiki pages for the following payment methods:

- [ ] Advanced Cash
- [ ] Alipay
- [ ] Australian PayID
- [ ] Cash Deposit
- [ ] HalCash
- [ ] Interac e-Transfer
- [ ] Japan Zengin Furikom
- [ ] MoneyBeam (N26)
- [ ] MoneyGram
- [ ] National Bank Transfer
- [ ] Perfect Money
- [ ] Popmoney
- [ ] PromptPay
- [ ] SEPA
- [ ] SEPA Instant
- [ ] Skrill
- [ ] Swish
- [ ] Transfer with Same Bank
- [ ] Transfer from Specific Banks
- [ ] Uphold
- [ ] WeChat Pay
- [ ] Western Union
- [ ] Zelle

### Complete analysis of existing payment methods

I would like to complete analysis of existing payment methods and can see some are under utilized. I would like to make sure this is not due to lack of understanding / marketing / Bisq usability of the specific payment methods.

### Establish active markets for users in Indian, Colombia and Brazil

In 2021 a lots of work went into adding Indian, Colombian and Brazilian payment methods. Users in these locations have been in need of, and requesting, more payment methods for some time. I would like to see these markets develop over 2022.

### Promote the use of Strike, ACH and Domestic Wire Transfer for the USD market

In 2021 Strike, ACH and Domestic Wire Transfer were added for the USD market. I have yet to see much uptake. I think Zelle, the current, most popular payment method has some limitations that Strike, ACH and Domestic Wire Transfer do not so would be good to see the USD market utalize more options for trading than just Zelle.

### Promote the use of the new European Payment Methods for instant payments.

The EUR market is doing really well at the moment. Trade volume is high and there is always lots of offers online. Most of the market is SEPA. In my opinion there are many other options that provide a better user experience for the transfer of funds Instantly. I think all the nw payment methods; Bizum, Monese, Satispay, Verse, Tikkie, and Paysera offer Instant transfers so would like to see their usage increase. Also more people using SEPA Instant than present would be preferable.

### Improve the UI of the National Currency Account screen

The UI of the [National Currency Account screen](https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq/issues/4837) can be improved. Goals would be to:

- Improve user friendliness.
- Include option to filter by currency
- Find a better way to list payment methods (currently showing 40+ in a list)
- Have links to each associated payment wiki page

### Improve the Bisq user experience of people from places with less traded currencies.

Update currencies to show on search to prevent issues where users think they are not able to trade with their local currency like the issuer [here](https://bisq.community/t/btc-php-options/11371)

This is a current [pull request](https://github.com/bisq-network/bisq/pull/6041)

### Review proposed payment methods to be added

Review [proposed payment methods to be added](https://github.com/users/pazza83/projects/1)

I am reluctant to add any more until current payment methods have been analyzed.

### Review any changes needed to current payment methods

Review [changes needed to current payment methods](https://github.com/users/pazza83/projects/3)
