Thinking about this a bit more... why do we need to rely on governement issued digital certificates?

We are in the Bitcoin world after all.. we could come up with our own verification system in which peers who have successfullt traded with a certain payment account sign on the Bitcoin blockchain or make a microtransaction to a Bitcoin address to vouch / upvote an account.

This would be simpler than using official digital certificates, scalable to anywhere in the world and relatively simple to do. It would combine reputation, with Bitcoin cred, with a permanent record on a public Blockchain.

The difficulty lies in doing it while not revealing any sensitive information about the traders and their bank accounts... but I'm sure that the people who have come up with Bisq and the BSQ couloured coin can manage it!
